Positive Reviews

A great pool

Indoor and free for guests to use, the swimming pool is a great facility. Midweek guests may find it particularly quiet and attractive.

Fitness for guests

This place is all about relaxation and where better do that than in the sauna! There’s also a (*quite small) gymnasium area for the more energetic guest. Everything is in good ‘nick’ and very clean.

Impressive menus and food

An important component of any break is the food element. Here, it is a definite highlight, with terrific breakfasts and even more impressive evening dinners; every meal ‘hitting the spot’ perfectly.

Negative Reviews

Food prices leave a nasty taste

The food is OK, but prices are sky high. You are favouring the hotel with your custom; the least they can do is include a sensible deal in the restaurant. Very short sighted – particularly as the pub down the road serves good food. and reasonably priced, too!

Pardon me for interrupting

You can’t really put your finger on it. Staff certainly aren’t at all unpleasant, but you get the feeling that, when you ask a question, you are interrupting something else that they’d prefer to be getting on with. The hotel doesn’t have much information displayed for the benefit of guests. If they did, there would be fewer enquiries and staff could get on with …whatever else it is they need to be doing.

Smooth operation with a few rough edges

Lack of information, excessive pricing and a clinical, rather impersonal, check in and check out; all serve to put that planned return visit in some doubt.
