Positive Reviews

Beautiful Location

The castle is very beautiful and allows for a quiet and peaceful stay The grounds and garden surrounding the castle are also very beautiful and allow for some peaceful walks The rooms which face the sea have really amazing views overlooking the ocean and the spectacular Antrim Coast.

Excellent Food

The food in the restaurant is very good value for money and all the dishes are cooked from fresh, locally sourced ingredients Although several guests do recommend the cooked breakfast as being better over the buffet breakfast The lunch and dinner options are varied and the bar lounge also features very nice, comfy chairs for taking afternoon tea or having a drink after a long day of exploring.

Comfortable Rooms and Bed

The rooms are very clean and well-decorated and the bed and mattress in particular are very comfortable The hotel is very peaceful and relaxing and it is easy in such a lovely atmosphere and with such high quality furnishings to get a good nights rest.

Negative Reviews

No Free Wi-Fi

Even though the hotel is a 4-star accommodation it does not provide Wi-Fi for free to guests who stay here It is also very difficult sometimes to get good phone reception to make calls.

Heating Issues

Some guests have reported heating issues in the rooms which make them too hot at night which can lead to sleeping on top of the bed covers Although the heating is not unbearable it should be brought to the manager's attention if it causes issues sleeping The staff are very helpful and attentive and would be willing to look into this issue.

Bar Prices are High

The prices of drinks in the bar including wine, beer and cocktails is somewhat expensive, however on the whole the hotel is very good value for money.
