About Circa 1905

Be transported to early twentieth century Barcelona with a stay at the boutique guesthouse, Circa 1905, in the historic Eixample district. In this era, some of the neighbouring houses, such as Casa Batlio and Casa Milà, were just being imagined by the legendary architect Gaudi.

Fortunate guests can view one of Gaudi's creations, La Pedrera, from their balconies. Others have to content themselves with charming views of the gardens or courtyard. The nine en-suite bedrooms are individually designed with period furniture and contain comfortable beds draped with Egyptian cotton sheets.

Circa 1905 provides Wi-Fi and a 24-hour front desk with complimentary coffee and pastries available around the clock.

There is a good selection of places to eat along the fashionable Passeig de Gracia, such as the elegant Oria Restaurant, around the corner.

Plaça de Catalunya and the top of La Rambla is about a 15-minute walk away. Gaudi's still unfinished masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia cathedral, is under two kilometres away.

Positive Reviews

You're in for an exquisite treat

If you're craving for somewhere intimate and traditional to stay in Barcelona, guests reckon you'll be amazed with this place. Few have experienced such a beautiful and characterful guesthouse. The building is simply oozing with charm with an exclusive, period feel, thanks to the original antique furniture.

Central, yet calm location

Guests love where this guesthouse is found. You are within walking distance of the main sights central Barcelona has to offer, but you're still away from the hoards. Gaudi's houses, such as Casa Mila, are just a short stroll away and you may even be lucky enough to see La Pedrera from your balcony. The hustle and bustle of La Ramba, just a short walk away, can feel miles away as you relax on your pleasant and calm balcony or terrace, enjoying breakfast or a glass of wine.

Feel pampered

You should feel well-looked after here. Guests say the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. You are treated to a tasty feast for breakfast and have coffee, cakes and pastries at your disposition throughout the day.

Negative Reviews

A bit difficult to find

You may need to hone your detective skills to find this place. Guests say that it is poorly indicated with only a very small, almost unnoticeable sign to indicate where it is.

Stairs to climb

To access the guesthouse you have to climb two flights of stairs. Guests say this can be challenging with luggage or for people with mobility issues.

Breakfast could be varied a bit more

Whilst the breakfast goes down a treat with guests, if you're stating for several days, they say it can get a touch monotonous.
