Positive Reviews

Central location; close to bars and restaurants

Guests find the ZooRooms Boutique Guesthouse in a central location with access to almost every place that Barcelona tourism has to offer. The place is close to good tapas bars and great restaurants. Guests find the metro being at a ten-minute walk distance an added convenience.

Fun and funky decor

Guests observe that the rooms are more spacious than can be expected for an old, busy, European city. They love the funky decor and the whole creative atmosphere. They say the rooms are well maintained and comfortable.

Friendly staff; great terrace and lounge room

The staff is friendly and gives sound recommendations about the city; places to visit, eat and drink. Guests say that paying attention to these recommendations worked very much to their advantage. The guests love the large communal lounging room and say the terrace with hammocks alone is worth staying for at the place. Guests, who want to take a break from rich restaurant food while touring, can do so in the shared kitchen.

Negative Reviews

No elevator; hallway and stairs dark

There is no elevator in the guesthouse and walking up three flights of stairs with luggage turns out to be rather tedious for the guests. Guests also find the dark entry hall and stairway a minor annoyance.

Traffic noises

Guests who stay in rooms facing the street have to deal with loud traffic noises through the nights. Guests say that a solution is to get a room away from the street or get a pair of ear plugs, which the guesthouse supplies.

Beds hard; bedside lights dim

A few guests find the beds hard and uncomfortable. They say that the bedside lamps were extremely dim making it difficult for them to read by them in the night.
