The Goldener Anker or Golden Anchor in Bodenwerder has been owned by the same family since 1837. For the past 7 generations guests have been treated traditionally well, whether wealthy, not so wealthy, famour or unknown. So the history of the Golden Anchor originates probably a fable: GrandGrandGranpa found a 104-kg gold anchor while fishing, but it probably got lost when Russian soldiers of Napoleon's army were trying to cross the River Weser.
