Positive Reviews

Excellent food.

The pub is highly regarded as one of the best places to eat in the area and doesn’t disappoint. From breakfast to dinner, everything is cooked to perfection and served piping hot. There’s also a great selection on the menu with plenty of old classics.

Warm and comfy rooms.

The old world charm apparent in the pub extends to the rooms. They are very nicely decorated and kept in good order. You’ll certainly enjoy the traditional feeling you get when you walk in the door of this place.

Amazing welcome and service.

The staff at this guest house go beyond the call of duty in extending such a warm and friendly welcome to each of the guests. You’ll feel like one of the locals from the moment you set foot in the front door.

Negative Reviews

In need of some TLC.

This pub is lovely and charming but, unfortunately, the rooms while full of character are in bad need of a refurb. The mattresses aren’t the best, and the décor is like something from the seventies. A bit of care and this place would be a great.

Noisy rooms.

The rooms are a tad on the noisy side thanks to the liveliness of the pub downstairs. There is also the traffic noise that isn’t quite so bad but with old windows that don’t keep out the sound, you might not get the best night’s sleep here.

Locals not as friendly as the staff.

It’s quite strange that the staff are extremely welcoming and will assist you in any way they can but the locals that frequent the bar seem to begrudge the presence of visitors. Not the greatest of atmospheres.
