Positive Reviews

No Cambridge diet here!

Breakfast is excellent and obviously, consists of high quality produce. Vegetarian choices are impressive, too; as is the continental option with masses of cheeses, fruits, breads and cereals.

Parking relief!

The hotel has more than adequate parking and once the car is deposited, it’s an easy decision to just leave it there and enjoy the short walk, across Jesus Green and into the centre of Cambridge.

Eat where locals eat!

It’s always a good sign when hotel diners are joined by locals, many of whom seem to be regular visitors here and well clued up on where to eat in the area. They obviously feel that they get good food and fine quality and value in the restaurant … and they are right!

Negative Reviews

Prices: difficult to swallow

Breakfast is breakfast – and you shouldn’t have to pay more for a cooked one! *Pay less for a less labour intensive continental one if you like! … but this current policy isn't easy to digest.

A hostile ‘reception’

Wow! Didn't see that one coming! Contrary to the usual warm welcome and appreciation of the fact that you are keeping them employed and out of the Job Centre; there is a tendency to be superior, stand offish and unwilling to share local information.

‘Manager’ doesn’t work weekends

Hello! this is a hotel, with high paying weekend visitors expecting a degree of service. If something is wrong, they need to address it to someone in authority. Simply put: if you run a hotel, you, reasonably, cover the busy weekend period 'Simples'.
