Positive Reviews

A good location for sightseeing

With the public bus stopping literally outside the front door, this hotel is a great choice for a sightseeing trip Edinburgh bus service is quite good, and there are many places to visit just a short distance from the hotel such as Greyfriars Bobby Statue and Edinburgh Castle.

Great for a night out in Edinburgh

Not every hotel offers 24-hour reception so this is a major plus point for this hotel It’s just a short ride in a taxi from the bars and restaurants in Princes Street, and the affordable price is great for those on a budget.

Great staff give you a warm Scottish welcome

The staff go above and beyond the call of duty and always have a smile on their faces Whether it’s booking a taxi or helping you plan your sightseeing trip around the area, the staff are super helpful.

Negative Reviews

24-hour reception wasn’t 24-hour

If you’re arriving on a late train or driving through the night, make sure you call ahead and let reception know Ringing a bell and repeatedly knocking on a door to get an answer is not the best way to start a weekend in Edinburgh.

Dreamer bed let down by rock-like pillows

It doesn’t make sense to have such an inviting bed with terrible pillows Some may enjoy sleeping on hard pillows, but you would expect a hotel to have something a little more comfortable.

Extra charges really add up

Thirty minutes of free Wi-Fi isn’t enough if you intend to spend a bit of time in the hotel The price of alcohol was also a little more than expected, but the worst hidden charge is the ‘early check-in charge’ even if you arrive only thirty minutes before check-in time.
