So welcoming, quiet & comfortable great walks so close to all amenities. Co hosts - Gorgeous Hugo & Charli - little Chihuahua’s to melt your heart. Jane an amazing thoughtful and intelligent conversationalist. Most enjoyable stay. I left well rested to resume my journey.

A beautiful stress free & relaxing stay. Jane was just perfect friendly informative fuss free.

Located in a quiet street within a short walk to main shopping strip, lake and pub. Self contained spacious 2 room cottage at front of property with own off street parking and fenced yard. Perfect place for two people to stay with fury friend while exploring the many sights around Benalla. Or just sit back and relax on the verandah with a good book and a glass of sparkling. Highly recommended.

Lovely old cottage in shady street just of the main street.Cosy on a cool evening with comfortable king bed and snug sitting room.

A very pleasant host and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast was good, with a generous supply of fresh fruit.In a quiet part of central Benalla.

So much more than a Cottage"

Was in Benalla for work and Jane's cottage was the perfect little home away from home! Comfortable bed, and lots of space! Lounge room had a little bar fridge and comfortable chairs, the bathroom and bedroom were huge in size. Definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed a few nights at Rushton Cottage. Comfy bed and well supplied breakfast. Nice quiet position yet only 2 blocks from the main street and a myriad of take-aways or restaurants. Highly recommended if you are looking for accommodation with your favourite 4 legged friend.

Easy stroll to all shops and great dog walking around the lake. Perfect to sit outside with a red wine while our dog had a sniff around the garden.

Charming suite in cottage in town centre - easy walk to shops, restaurants and local pub. Comfortable bed, good heating including in the en suite, and continental breakfast with generous serving of fresh fruit. Lovely verandah catching the sun, looking out over the garden. Quiet street. Jane was welcoming and informative about the area.

Comfortable digs

Great value

We again enjoyed a delightful stay at Rushton Cottage. The house is very comfortable and well heated for a winter. Jane as a host is wonderful and nothing is a problem. All round a very relaxing environment where you can easily feel at home.

Home away from home

Convenient location for overnight stop between Geelong and Sydney. Comfortable and well-appointed accommodation. Jane welcoming and communicated with me every step of the way. Definitely returning to this accommodation!

Comfortable & well-located accommodation

Homely stay

Such a well presented accommodation. So roomy. Close to everything. Had a lovely walk around the lake and a great meal at the Northo, just around the corner. Bed so comfy and plenty of doonas/blankets to keep you warm during winter. Living room had everything we needed. Check in was easy. Thanks Jane for a great stay.

Great place to stay in Benalla!

I have stayed overnight at Rushton Cottage before with my poodle but this time I was also with my elderly mother. Going on a road trip with a poodle and an elderly mother has its difficulties but staying at Rushton Cottage was an enjoyable and hassle free experience. Jane seems to have the knack of finding the right balance between being attentive and giving you space , which made the whole experience very pleasant. The property is spacious and very clean . The poodle was welcome inside and she could also roam around in the enclosed front garden. It was not only an easy and hassle free stay but we also felt very welcomed.

Easy and hassle free

Jane is a great host; she was helpful through the booking process, welcoming but in no way intrusive, and even put the heating on for us. We did appreciate being able to take our dog, too. The cottage was warm and inviting, impeccably clean and Jane provided us with a great selection for breakfast which we could make at our leisure. Her recommendation of the pub for dinner was spot on and we would recommend the beautiful drive down the King Valley and its wines.

Winter weekend at Rushton Cottage

A great place for a stopover between Geelong and Sydney. Jane was warm and welcoming, and everything that we needed was there. Wonderful to have the dog treated as part of the family.

Great place

We loved the convenience of the cottage and we could bring along our groodle who had space in yard to play. The bed was very comfortable and we very happy with our continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in Benalla. thanks Jane x Melissa, Kane & Malek

Lovely cottage

This lovely clean, welcoming cottage, and very friendly hostess, are an absolute delight. We loved sitting outside, sipping our tea.. everything was catered for.. the cottage is very centrally located. Will be back indeed

Very clean and well appointed.

It was a great stay, only a quick transit stay but Jane was amazing and so easy to get in contact with! She was very helpful and the breakfast that was just lovely. The apartment is the front of the cottage but still very private and great amount of space for us (husband baby and dog) Very close to the main street and there is some amazing street art just on the corn of the block. Next time we are traveling back to Victoria we would love to be able to stay again!

Quiet, comfortable and beautifully maintained with fenced in area for dogs

We had a lovely stay in Benalla at Rushton Cottage. Jane couldn't have been more welcoming to us and as she knew I had my niece from the UK with us she had a map ready for us to ensure we didn't miss any of the sights of Benalla. The cottage was quaint, clean and very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend staying here.

Dog cottage

Jane, the property owner is a real gem full of local knowledge and warmth. The property is extremely well maintained and within walking distance to local attractions and shops. We will definitely be staying here next time we’re Benalla!

I stayed one night with my poodle as i was passing through Benalla. We were made to feel very welcome and Jane was available for any needs and provided information on the area. The comfortable bed and the atmosphere of the room ensured a good nights sleep; it was the best sleep I had had in a long while.

Comfortable and welcoming

Loved the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Everything we need is supplied. Location is central but not too close to town centre to be noisy. This was our second stay and will always be our first choice when staying in Benalla.

Great place to stay

The cottage was perfect for two friends travelling together. The beds were warm and comfortable and the lounge room was nice and cosy. The breakfast provisions were ideal and Jane was the perfect host, giving us great ideas for places to eat and to visit.

Lovely B& B in a quiet street in central Benalla.

We broke up our road trip from Blue Mountains to Mornington at Benalla. Lovely cosy cottage with everything we could possibly need. Host very considerate and helpful. Local info was great. Close to central town so good for evening dining.

Ideal

Jane made us, and our dogs feel very welcome in her elegant and comfortable apartment. Her local advice regarding dining out with our dogs, was much appreciated, and meant we had a lovely evening. A very comfortable bed was also greatly appreciated! The central location of the cottage was very helpful for us.

Rushton Cottage is warm, inviting and centrally located.

Great communication with the owner, everything about the cottage was excellent, very clean and a very comfortable bed. Archie our little pooch was made welcome as well. We would certainly return.

Loved it!

We enjoyed our New Year stay at Rushton Cottage very much. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The verandah and garden were a special treat, and the extra lengths owner Jane, went to, made the stay memorable.

Beautiful and quiet stay

We had a lovely and peaceful stay at Rushton Cottage. Jane was the perfect host; friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable! The Cottage was so beautifully toasty warm and the beds very comfy. It's great that my dogs were able to come with me and Jane didn't make me feel anxious that they might ruin anything, (of course, they wouldn't!) or produce a list of rules of animal do's and don'ts- this has happened before and ruined our stay. Benalla is a lovely town and you will make the most of it staying at Rushton Cottage.

We were warmly welcomed by Jane to this delightful accomodation so centrally located.It was so cozy and comfortable, best bed ever! Our dog Max was also welcomed. Lovely place to spend your life doing very little

The Benalla motels looked pretty ordinary so I looked around and found this absolute gem. We were meandering home from Melbourne and could only stay one night which was a shame as it turns out that there is much more to do in Benalla than we realised; we really hope to be back sometime and hopefully we can stay here when we do! Jane was very welcoming and had a lot of local information; there was good communication before our arrival which resulted in her booking us a table at a local restaurant, which was great, and at an east walking distance. All her suggestions were very helpful. The key was easy to collect from the safe. The accommodation itself was delightful, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast too and appreciated the opportunity to own a new book (Elena Ferrante) - thanks! Absolutely no complaints.
