Hostel Cape Byron (Byron Bay, Australia)

Experienced hostellers and those new to the experience agree that this hostel was a fantastic experience. They loved the comfortable beds and clean, well maintained bathrooms and kitchens. Relaxing around the pool or out on the balcony added to the experience as did the community barbecue dinner. Guests described the hostel as having a pleasant and friendly vibe and said it was a great way to get to know fellow travellers.  Most said they would definitely return.

The highlight of the stay for most guests was the free guided lighthouse walking tour offered by Todd, one of the owners. Guests described seeing dolphins, whales, wallabies and other wildlife and said the experience was absolutely not to be missed. They also appreciated Todd's comedic delivery and knowledge of the Byron Bay area.

Guests had high praise for the staff of this establishment and described them as very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Many noted individual instances in which staff members went out of their way to be of assistance.

To ensure a supply of clean dishes, the hostel requires a deposit for plates and mugs. Guests described the policy as a bit of an inconvenience.

The hostel was described as noisy at times and there were reports of rowdy behaviour from other guests.

Guests complained that the complimentary Wi-Fi was slow and did not always function very well especially during hours of peak usage.
