The hotel boasts an ideal, city central location on historic Lydiard Street. It’s ideal for visitors looking to explore some of Ballarat’s historic neighbourhoods and enjoy the architecture. Guests say the major points of interest are all convenient to the hotel, and can be reached on foot. In addition, if you’re arriving or departing by train, you’ll be delighted to know that the Ballarat Train Station is also just a short walk away.
This historic property has been wonderfully restored and managed to maintain every ounce of its historic atmosphere despite the updates. Guests were amazed by the beauty of the hotel, extending from the front entrance to every room. All accommodations feel luxurious and are full of unique details, as each space has been individually decorated.
Make plans to dine at the Gallery. Guests are constantly impressed by the amazing dishes, which taste as well as they are presented. Even the continental breakfast gets plenty of compliments. Oenophiles will appreciate the varied wine selection, with something to compliment any dish. In addition, guests highly recommend the High Tea.
Some of the more basic rooms are limited in space, and look significantly smaller than they do in the hotel website’s photos. Guests recommend upgrading to a bigger room if you’re not staying solo, or if you have a lot of luggage.
