Positive Reviews

A friendly, helpful, and family-run B&B

This is a friendly, family-run hotel, so guests appreciate that little sophistication should be expected. It is very relaxing though, and the owners are a mine of local information which they are happy to impart to their visitors. They will advise and help, too, with any excursion plans. Guests feel that this input is an invaluable money-saver.

A free breakfast bonus

Free breakfast is a welcome surprise for guests. It is not excessive in the choices that are presented, but it provides sufficient food with which to start the day.

It’s all about the location

From the hotel’s rooftop terrace, guests can experience, not just the unequalled pyramid and Great Sphinx views, but also the Sound and Light Theater’s presentations. Guests wanting to pay and get a bit nearer, note that the entrance is just across the road.

Negative Reviews

There are stairs to climb

Accessibility can be a problem, even for many of the able-bodied guests. All the rooms are on the fourth floor and, as anticipated, there is no lift here. Getting to the room can be a daunting prospect.

Rooms need upgrading

Guests comment that there is evidence of a lack of maintenance in the rooms. Furnishings are old and there are some botched and unattractive repairs.

Taxi fares to the city centre are steep

The pyramids are the main reason for staying here. Guests looking forward to a change of scene and a night out in downtown Cairo soon discover that it is a lengthy taxi journey away. Taxis are easy to come by, but the pyramids and the taxi fares are both very steep.
