Positive Reviews

It's got a central location

The hotel is located next to the CBD and is within walking distance of countless restaurants, pubs, and shops. Entertainment of all kinds is within another easy stroll, in any direction from the front door. It's also an easy walk to the mall and local wharf and ferry.

A good rate

The hotel provides a good value for what is received. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They are spacious enough for additional guests and the fully-cooked hot breakfast that comes with the room rate really adds to the value.

Staff is charming and personable

The staff seeks to please and have friendly personalities. They are prompt with services and are good for tips and recommendations in the area.

Negative Reviews

Parking can be a bother

There are only a couple of spaces near the hotel. Otherwise, you'll have to find parking elsewhere. The hotel can arrange this with prior notice, but the car park is a bit awkward and is a walk away. It's in a parking building that charges per day and you'll have to hike the hills back and forth.

Can be noisy at night

Since the rooms are located just above the restaurant and pub, the noise can be heard in the upstairs rooms. This is mostly problematic on busy weekend nights, but street noise and conversation can be heard on most nights.

A bit rundown

The rooms and hotel could do with a fresh lick of paint ot make for a nicer appearance. The bathroom gives off an unpleasant smell and the lack of a lift can create problems for the elderly or those with mobility issues.
