Positive Reviews

Spectacular views from the upper floors

While perhaps not mentioned as often as one may have expected, several guests said that their rooms higher up in the tower had sensational views over the city that would have been difficult to match elsewhere.

Very beautiful decor

The hotel seems to consider itself a “design hotel”, and it is clear that a great deal of thought has gone in to creating just the right atmosphere. Guests did not fail to notice, and seemed to appreciate being in a very beautiful and chic space.

Metro station just steps away

While not in the very heart of tourist Barcelona, guests mentioned that Porta Fira is right opposite the Fira Metro Station. From there they could quickly be whisked into the heart of the city to view the Sagrada Familia and all the other sights.

Negative Reviews

Too pretentious for some

A handful of guests seemed to find the hotel, and some of its staff, just a little too pretentious. It seems to consider itself a “design hotel”, and some guests felt that this designation had gone to the heads of some of the staff, leading to an unpleasant aloof attitude.

Chemical air fresheners used

Several guests mentioned that the hotel uses air fresheners in its ventilation system. While they did consider it better than having to endure bad smells, they were suspicious of whether it was really needed and many did not like the chemical smell at all. Those with allergies should also take note.

Problems with the parking

Guests mentioned several problems with the hotel's parking. For a start, the bays were said to be extremely small, making fitting in a hair raising experience. Secondly, it was said to be too high-tech for its own good, with a number plate reading system that often malfunctioned.
