About Banyan Tree Samui

Luxury, exclusivity and a connection with nature are combined at the Banyan Tree Samui Resort which overlooks Lamai Bay and much of the Gulf of Thailand.

Each spacious villa has been carefully designed and perched on the various hills surrounding the bay. Traditional Thai style with open layouts, ocean views and private infinity pools and gardens all make up the experience. Free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, minibar and safe are also available in-room.

Facilities at the Banyan Tree Samui include a ballroom, conference facilities, a yoga room, gym and an award-winning spa. Wi-Fi is complimentary and available in all areas.

Guests can choose from three restaurants and two bar/lounges including a pool bar and a beach grill to eat and drink at.

The resort is twenty minutes away from Samui International Airport and also close to sights such as the fabled Grandfather and Grandmother rocks and several beaches.

Positive Reviews

A one-of-a-kind experience

From the beautifully designed and decorated hotel itself to the unparalleled views, lush manicured gardens and world-class service, a stay at the Banyan Tree Samui is sure to leave a big impression on even the most seasoned traveller Few places offer such peace, privacy and luxury in such a unique location as this.

A family-friendly environment

Children under five years of age stay free at the hotel and cots/cribs can be added to a villa on request There is also a dedicated animation team for children’s activities and the gardens, swimming pools and beaches are ideal for the whole family to rest and play together.

Activities offer something for everyone

The resort boasts a spa, yoga lessons with professional instructors and even several dining options for those wanting to enjoy local and international cuisine Nearby are some fantastic spots for hiking, snorkelling and scuba diving, an annual triathlon and many tourist attractions which will excite people of all ages and interests.

Negative Reviews

Private beach isn’t quite as nice as others

The resort’s private beach is rather more rocky and less suited to swimming and other beach activities than the others close by, but it is a short walk or drive to many of them.

Drinks prices are fairly high

As can be expected the drinks at the hotel bars as well as the in-room minibars are relatively expensive, however there are shops nearby that stock many local and international wines and beers for you to enjoy at a lower price if you wish.

Ocean view rooms surpass the rest

While majority of the rooms have a view over the bay, those described with a ‘partial’ ocean view hardly have the same effect For those who want the full experience the resort can offer, many agree that it is worth making sure you get a room with a view.
