About Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre: Australia’s Creative Hub

Also referred to as the MCEC and colloquially as “Jeff’s Shed”, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is a venue space where imagination comes to life and success stories are shared. The MCEC has been host to a number of events including high-powered promotional conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and charity galas. Annually, the centre welcomes over 2.5 million visitors, many of which travel from across the globe. The venue features space for private business functions, conferences, major corporate events, and grand-scale exhibitions, as well as a stage for musical and theatrical performances.

The Plenary Experience at the MCEC

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s South Wharf, the Plenary is the centrepiece of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The venue can accommodate over 5,000 guests and it can be broken into three separate sectors for more intimate events. World-famous speakers and theatrical performances have been held here, including Neil Young, the St. Petersburg Ballet, and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Bonus Services at the MCEC

The centre has a few dining venues to catch a quick bite or sit down and eat with colleagues, family, or friends. Visitors can stop by any of the cafes and bars on the property to recharge and refuel themselves before a big event.

An On-Site Place to Stay at the MCEC

When it comes to luxury rooms and suites, the convention centre is the only venue in all of Australia to offer a place for visitors to stay. The Pan Pacific Melbourne has been a popular choice for delegates over the years, not only because of its convenient location beside the MCEC, but because of the many luxury services and accommodation options that are offered.
