About Hotel Compass Point Beach Resort

Founded by music mogul Chris Blackwell, Hotel Compass Point Beach Resort once boasted a guest list that reads like a who’s who of the music industry. Today, the colourful resort is a little quieter but still offers vacationers unique lodgings in a tropical setting.

The resort is made up of rainbow-coloured cottages featuring private balconies or decks. All-white interiors contrast the colourful exteriors, with air conditioning and state-of-the-art sound systems included for good measure.

Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or hot tub. A beach is accessible at low tide, while a 120-foot pier juts out into the turquoise waters of the Atlantic. Windrose Spa is also located on site.

The resort restaurant offers fresh fish and other Bahamian cuisine, as well as enchanting views from its clifftop perch. There’s also two bars on site.

Nestled on the northwest shore of New Providence Island, Hotel Compass Point Beach Resort is about a 30-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Nassau.

Positive Reviews

Quality, Delicious Food

The resort is small, but provides large meals that are delicious. The seafood is fresh and they serve fantastic Bahamian food. There aren’t many vegetarian choices; however, you can find something to soothe your palate, as they are more than flexible and will try to accommodate you.

An All-Around Good Atmosphere

The hotel environment and staff are pleasant. They will certainly assist you with your needs and any issues. There is great a band that plays in the evening and the resort itself is lovely. The grounds are well maintained, the decor in the huts is charming and comfortable. The air-conditioning works well and the waves at night are magical.

A Private Paradise

The resort can only have a certain amount of guests, which makes it even more appealing. It doesn’t get too crowded and the locale is away from the rush of the city. The resort provides the perfect amount of privacy.

Negative Reviews

The Disappearing Act

Don’t be surprised if the restaurant staff disappears. What’s more, you have to repeatedly place your order before any food is on your table.

It's Not Right On The Beach

The resort is not right on the beach. In fact, in order to get to Love Beach you have to walk behind a hut, past a private home, down a difficult staircase, and more to get to it. There’s not much nearby either. No grocery store, retail shops, and there’s only one restaurant.

Be Careful About The Fees

You will be charged an exorbitant fee just to be served lunch on the pier. Not only that, there is a fee if you use a certain credit card, and the cab ride into downtown is very expensive each way.
