Good value for money

Whatever their problems with the hotel, and there certainly were some, most guests conceded that the room-rate was quite low for the central location the hotel occupied.

Good décor and furniture

There were very few guests who took issue with their room. Most found the décor to their taste, and not at all dated or old fashioned. Most also said the beds were very comfortable.

Rooms kept very clean

There were really no complaints about cleanliness. On the contrary, several guests went out of their way to compliment the housekeeping staff on a job well done

Negative Reviews

No lift the building

This was by far the most common complaint. An astounding number of guest mentioned that the lack of a lift did bother them, making them have to walk up and down to their rooms many times a day.

No tea/coffee or amenity kits

Going by the bulk of the comments it seems that guests regard the management as a bit stingy. Though not an expensive property, they did still expect some basics. For example, they certainly expected at least a little bit of shampoo, soap and so on. But these were not supplied at all. Likewise, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in their room.

Some rooms have no windows

Guest after guest mentioned that they were assigned a room that had no window. After complaining they were usually moved to a proper room, but this may not always be possible. Also, some guests just felt the management were trying their luck, to see if a guest would complain. As far as the guests were concerned they had booked, and paid for, a room with a window.
