Positive Reviews

Good location in a popular area

This was by far what guests most enjoyed about this hostel. Guests liked the location for two reasons. Firstly, they reported that the immediate area was interesting, and had all the shopping, dining and nightlife they could want within easy reach. Secondly, they reported that it was a relatively quick walk to get into the heart of the CBD, where they could enjoy the more traditional attractions around Elizabeth Quay.

Friendly and accommodating staff

Guests reported that the owners ran another business on site (a convenience store) and that they and their staff were unfailingly engaged, friendly and helpful. There were many reports of the owner going above and beyond the call of duty, such as staying up to check-in guests arriving very late at night.

Blue CAT bus stop right outside

Too many guests to mention commented on the fact that there was a stop of the free Blue CAT bus service right outside the front door. They found this easy to use to get around the central area.

Negative Reviews

Many long term tenants

It was reported that the hostel accommodated a number of long term tenants, who seemed to be working in the area. This made some feel a bit uneasy and caused the hostel to lack a true travels atmosphere.

Cleanliness could be improved

Guests were not really happy with the cleanliness standards applied here. The hostel was said to be cleaned only infrequently, with dirty showers a particular bone of contention.

No lockers

Guests staying on one of the dorm rooms reported that they contained no lockers to securely store their belongings. Many felt that they had to take their valuables with them each time they ventured out.
