Positive Reviews

Quiet and peaceful location

This is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for somewhere quiet and away from traffic and nightlife noise. It's not so remote to be isolated, but there is more than enough distance to keep many distractions and loud disruptions from negatively affecting your relaxation.

Owner is a very lovely host

The owner receives a lot of praise for her kindness, generosity, and warm and welcoming appreciation for all guests. She's readily available for whatever you need, a great resource for what to see and do in the neighbourhood, and flexible as to check-in and check-out as long as you discuss it beforehand.

Comfy, spacious accommodations

The rooms are larger and more spacious than expected, and have an ambiance about them that draws you in, and makes this seem more of a guesthouse than the typical hostel. Rooms are decorated quaintly, and it's an atmosphere that's like staying with a favourite aunt.

Negative Reviews

There could be higher standards of cleaning

A major disappointment are the tell-tale signs that things weren't sufficiently cleaned. Dirt and grime on the surfaces are a turn-off and make some guests reluctant to use kitchen appliances.

Awkward mingling with long-time residents

Not all short term guests are comfortable hanging out in the common areas with long-term guests who act more like permanent residents. Temporary guests are sometimes hesitant to address certain behaviour such as noise or not enough space at the dining table because they feel they don't have the right to do so.

Not enough bathroom facilities

One of the biggest disappointments is that because there are only a couple of showers and loos, it's not always easy for guests to use the facilities when needed. They wish there were additions per guest.
