Positive Reviews

Calm surroundings and quaint atmosphere

From the winding driveway leading up to the manor, to the beautiful garden views, the location has an air of peace and relaxation It's designed for a simple getaway, where you can hear local wildlife.

Good food and lovely staff keep you happy

The menu is hearty, reasonably priced, and can be modified for requests such as vegetarian diets The staff treat the younger guests as respectfully and attentively as the adults, and welcome everyone as extended family Praise also goes to the owners' dog Alfie, for being such a sweetie!

Great value for the accommodations inspires returns

The comfortable and spacious accommodations are more than what's expected for the price Between that, the personal attention from the owners and staff, and the uniqueness not found in chain hotels, many are not one-time only guests.

Negative Reviews

Decor and furnishings need better upkeep

The vintage and modern blendings still leave the décor too dated Little details such as peeling wallpaper, scratched up curtains, saggy mattresses, and threadbare carpets and towels take away from the rooms' ambiance.

Poor exterior and interior lighting is unsettling

There should be better and stronger lighting for the outside, particularly around the parking and driveway area, and as the road gets closer to the manor Interior lighting is also spotty at times in the rooms and the common areas, and creates an uncomfortable feeling, especially when staff is not around While some find it adds to the charm of the old building, others don't care for the spooky impression.

Inconsistent room temperatures, Wi-Fi, and TV

The Welbeck Manor's age and location means it has its share of poor Wi-Fi and TV reception Room temperatures are inconsistent, either being too warm or too cold Heat can be sporadic or not come on at all.
