The Oaks Lagoons is set amongst six lagoon style pools in tropical Port Douglas, a short walk from Four Mile Beach.

Hotel rooms are available in a range of configurations with some including balcony spas and swim out rooms with direct access to a lagoon pool. Standard amenities include air conditioning, TV with cable channels, kitchen, laundry and DVD player.

All guests have access to the six lagoon pools situated across the resort, there is a free shuttle which runs into town and the tour desk can arrange day trips to local attractions.

If guests do not wish to self-cater, reception can recommend a number of nearby restaurants and bars to suit any taste.

While in Port Douglas be sure to take a day trip or two and explore the Great Barrier Reef or the Daintree Rainforest. Popular Macrossan Street is a 45 minute walk from the Oaks Lagoons.

Awesome Pool

Previous visitors raved about the lagoon style pool complex at the hotel. Guests who stayed in swim out rooms loved the relaxed access to the lagoons that they enjoyed, leaving comments for future guests to pay that bit extra to get a swim out room.

Good Location, Large Apartments

The hotel is located close to Macrossan Street which is Port Douglas's main shopping, restaurant and bar area and many guests commented that this proximity was the best part of their stay. Guests also remarked that the apartments were spacious and provided ample room for their party to relax at the end of a long day sightseeing.

Amazing Staff

Staff at the hotel rated very well across a number of reviews with many visitors pleasantly surprised by their helpful and courteous attitudes. It seems the staff here are only too happy to go the extra mile to make sure their guests have a great stay.

Negative Reviews

Musty Smells

Several guests complained via their reviews that the hotel has a musty smell to it and that the smell was overwhelming for some making their stay unpleasant. Guests attributed the smells to the humidity and the lack of cleaning of mould in their bathrooms by housekeeping staff.

No Wi-Fi

Guests were disappointed that free Wi-Fi was not included as standard in their room rate and that they had to purchase a Wi-Fi package if they wanted to access the internet. Guests also commented that the paid for Wi-Fi was expensive and not worth it.

Average Experience

Guests who encountered a few problems with their rooms such as appliances not working or air conditioning breaking down or not cooling the room completely described their experience at the hotel only as average at best; and they would have given positive reviews if everything was working properly.
