About Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort

The Oaks Pacific Blue Resort is located in idyllic Port Stephens, a stone’s throw away from local beaches, mid way between Nelsons Bay and Salamander Bay on the New South Wales central coast.

Luxurious studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments include modern amenities such as reverse cycle air conditioning and TV with Foxtel channels. Ground floor apartments feature a 'swim out' option (into the pool area) and select number of three bedroom apartments including a private plunge pool.

The Oaks Pacific Blue Resort boasts one of Australia's largest lagoon style swimming pools, a gym, heated spa, unique Japanese steam room and tennis courts. The Body and Soul Spa Retreat can also cater to any relaxation need.

If guests do not wish to self-cater there is an on-site restaurant called 'Splash' which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner which specialises in dishes made from locally sources seafood.

The Oaks Pacific Blue Resort is only a two and a half hour drive from central Sydney and the nearest airport is at Newcastle which is a 35 minute drive away.

Huge Rooms

Guests described the rooms as very spacious in their reviews with many people commenting that there was more than enough space to store their belongings, relax with their partner or family and get ready for the day ahead. Parents travelling with children commented that there was loads of space to comfortably fit their family into the apartments.

Friendly Staff

The staff at the hotel rated highly across a number of reviews with many previous guests appreciating their friendly attitudes and flexible work ethic which meant that the majority of their requests for additional amenity were provided.

Amazing Lagoon Pool

By far the most talked about featured of this hotel is the lagoon style pool complete with the option of swim out rooms. Guests raved about how they loved relaxing by the pool with their family and friends and left messages for future guests to splurge and upgrade to a swim out room, with private pool access.

Negative Reviews

Check-In Dramas

Guests who had less than the ideal and non-speedy check-in left negative reviews about their experience, complaining that reception struggled to cope with their room requests, lost reservations and could not guarantee their pre-arranged requests.

Needs A Deep Clean

The hotel could use a deep clean according to guests who stayed here. It seems the limited housekeeping and quick room change-overs leave dust on surfaces and a build up of grim particularly in the bathroom areas which need urgent attention.

A Few Quibbles

Guests complained about the state of appliances in the rooms such as the fridge and the microwaves which could use a good clean and refubishment. Guests also commented that the air conditioners were rusted and had seen better days.
