It has history, charm and bustles to its own beat. One of the oldest buildings in town and around 150 years old it was home to Barnett Perlman a prominent Jewish merchant and his Polish wife, hence the name Perlman House. The original Origan wooden floors and window frames is still visible in some of the rooms and the thick stone walls keep the home cool in summer. In winter gather around one of the fireplaces to keep warm. We offer two (2) self catering units (sleep 6 people each) where all expectations are exceeded with loads of character and attention to detail. We supply reading materials and board games. We offer to do the necessary bookings for our guests for visits to the Observatory, night stargazing and a restaurant if desired. Private entrance with remote control gate and access to back yard where vehicles are parked safely and kids and pets can play safely. Outside fire pit area for late night coffees and talks. This property is ideal for every occasion from romantic getaways to family gatherings or groups sleeping a total of 12 in the two cottages with free WiFi. Sutherland is host to internationally known (SALT) South African Largest Telescope and stargazing surely will be on your to do list in our little Karoo town.
