Positive Reviews

Such a friendly atmosphere

Many travellers remarked on the relaxing casual vibe of the hotel and its surroundings. The staff were described as incredibly helpful, and willing to assist to make the vacation as trouble-free as possible.

The cuisine is delicious

The breakfast is considered to be an added bonus, but when it came to trying out the traditional pub food, guests felt they had hit the jackpot. There is a variety of excellent choices, and just about all guests said there is no possibility of making a bad choice with this fare.

Everything you need close by

With Darling Harbour within an easy walk, guests found the location of this hotel ideal for those wanting a peaceful, slow-pace vacation. The well-known Sydney fish market and the Powerhouse Museum are both in the vicinity, and you will be able to link up to the public transport system close by to.

Negative Reviews

Excess traffic noise

If you happen to get a room at the front of the building, you had better be prepared for quite a lot of traffic noise reaching up to the rooms. Guests found they were disturbed during the night, and could not get a good night's sleep at all.

Dated building

Guests found the buildings, rooms and decor to be a bit on the old-fashioned side, and felt that with minimal effort, time and money, the hotel could benefit from some upgrades. The furniture, fixtures and especially the curtains should be replaced with a more modern look.

No elevator on-site

If you don't get a ground floor, chances are you may have to be responsible for getting all your bags up to your room. Guests said there is no concierge service, however if you happen to come across the staff in the hallways, they would be happy to assist you with your bags.
