Positive Reviews

Appealing location

Guests have found the location of this hotel appealing. The setting in the heart of the backpacking district means you’ll be surrounded by like-minded people. Plus, there’s public transport nearby to help you make the most of your stay in Sydney.

Good choice of facilities

The range of facilities at this Sydney hostel consistently impresses guests. Property information indicates that you’ll have access to all the essentials, as well as a host of extras such as a cinema, cafe and bar. Generally, the facilities here appear to be well maintained.

Clean throughout

The majority of previous visitors to this hostel have found the dorms, rooms and communal areas of the property are clean. There are, of course, occasions when people haven’t cleaned up after themselves in the kitchen but, overall, standards seem reasonably high.

Negative Reviews

Limited parking available

Guests have noted that the parking here is limited to just a handful of spaces and, since it doesn’t appear that you can pre-book a spot, it’s very much a case of first come, first served. Also, guests have found the cost of parking to be on the high side.

Noisy surroundings

It should probably come as little surprise that a fair number of guests have found this hostel to be noisy. Loud music plays on at least two of the floors throughout the day. Plus, there’s the noise coming from Scubar to deal with as well. Ear plugs are recommended.

Some security concerns

Previous guests have noted that there are some security issues here. This is a large hostel with 556 beds so policing who comes in and out can be a fairly significant task. Reviews reveal some instances of theft so it would be wise to take advantage of the lockers.
