Positive Reviews

Ideal location near Circular Quay

The hotel's location in the heart of Sydney, in one of its oldest neighbourhoods, provides not only a desirable situation in The Rocks, but also offers outstanding access to some of the city's most popular sights and attractions. Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens are all within walking distance, while Circular Quay offers convenient public transport options including trains, buses and ferries with connections to the airport.

Great atmosphere

Reviewers agree that the atmosphere in this hotel is great, with cosy rooms that offer privacy, friendly, hospitable owners who ensure guests feel welcome and well cared for, and a lively Irish pub ideal for an enjoyable evening with the locals.

Excellent food at on-site pub

Previous guests say the food served at the on-site pub, including the complimentary breakfast, is both delicious and generous in portion sizes.

Negative Reviews

No elevator with tricky stairs

Elderly previous guests found the fact that there is no elevator in the building to be a problem as some had great difficulty climbing the stairs to their room. Those reviewers recommend those with mobility issues request a room on a lower floor.

Noise can be an issue

While many of the guests who mentioned noise say they expected such given they booked accommodation in a pub, reviewers do draw attention to noise in the area and the establishment itself, which can be difficult for light sleepers.

Shared bathrooms not ideal for some

A number of previous guests did not like the accommodation setup, which required them to share a bathroom, though most acknowledge the bathrooms were well kept and clean.
