Positive Reviews

Exceptional location

According to the reviews, the hotels main selling point is simply that it is not only in Bondi Beach, the suburb, but that it very close to the actual beach itself. Guests loved being able to walk to what is arguably Australia's most famous beach. Together with the proximity of the cafes, bars and other amenities, it made them feel like they were in the very centre of city's action.

Excellent Wi-Fi

Considering that Wi-Fi is something guests rarely comment on, unless it is really bad, it was surprising to find many guests complimenting the hostel's Wi-Fi, saying that it was both reliable and more than fast enough for their purposes.

Decent value for money

Given its great location, and fairly average room rates, the majority of guests felt they received decent value for money.

Negative Reviews

Many cleanliness complaints

While not a universal complaint, there were still far too many guests who experienced cleanliness issues during their stay. “Grubby” was a word used a couple of times, with the bathrooms being perhaps the area were guests were most concerned about a lack of cleanliness.

Staff a little disengaged

Quite a number of guests reported that they found the staff to be, if not exactly unfriendly, somewhat disengaged. It seems that many guests were hoping to find a friendly and cheerful hostel vibe but instead found the place to be a little too “corporate” to really have that feel.

Rooms small and dark

Several guests remarked that their room was not only very small, something that they could perhaps have lived with, but that it was very dark as well, with not much natural light to brighten things up.
