Positive Reviews

Extremely clean rooms!

Shinjuku New City Hotel Tokyo's rooms are spotlessly clean, as guests did not find dust on the furnishings or pieces of trash under the beds. The floors are vacuumed well and the curtains did not have stains, so even if you are a keen observer, you will still be impressed.

Vouchers and free shuttle ensure value for money

Guests expressed that they were given free vouchers upon arrival. In addition, there is also a free shuttle service going to the train station each day, which delighted guests especially those who are budget travellers.

Ideally located in Shinjuku- perfect for explorers

The Shinjuku Metro and Train Station, which has direct access to many tourist spots in Tokyo is only a short walking distance from the property. Moreover, there are many bars near the hotel so guests noted that are able to experience the vibrant nightlife of Shinjuku.

Negative Reviews

Rooms and beds are small

The rooms are not that big making most guests struggle a little just to find space for their luggage. The beds are little small too. Despite the small size, the beds are still comfortable to sleep on, so guests also noted that they still experienced a cosy sleep.

Language barriers may be encountered

According to many guests' reviews, some of the staff does not have a good command in speaking English. This issue led to minor misunderstandings, but the employees maintained composure and still managed the situations properly.

Bathrooms and lift have strange odours

Guests are a bit bothered because the bathrooms smell musty upon their arrival, while the lift smells like smoke at times. You can call the staff, however, and they will spray air fresheners as soon as possible.
