About Hotel Colomba d'Oro

Set in a former 14th-century convent, where features include an opulent frescoed foyer, Hotel Colomba d'Oro sits within 300 metres of Piazza Bra and Verona Arena, the latter a magnificent 1st-century Roman amphitheatre.

Accommodation options include single, double, and superior rooms, as well as junior suites, each boasting marble bathrooms, bespoke linens, and flat-screen TVs. Select rooms offer a private balcony.

Guests can relax in the furnished inner courtyard or take advantage of the on-site concierge services to plan a trip or tour. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. Parking at Hotel Colomba d'Oro, meanwhile, attracts a daily fee.

A complimentary buffet breakfast is served daily in a stone-walled dining room. Plus, there’s a modern bar specialising in creative cocktails.

While guests can walk to the Scaliger Tombs in ten minutes, Giulietta’s House, a 14th-century home with a tiny balcony thought to be the inspiration for the famous scene in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, is just 650 metres from the hotel.

Positive Reviews

Fabulous setting in the Old Town

For guests, the location of this hotel really couldn't prove any more appealing. Set right in the Old Town, with Romeo and Juliet’s houses within strolling distance, the hotel offers the perfect base from which to explore the city of star-crossed lovers.

Clean and spacious rooms offer a comfy stay

Guests find the rooms to be both clean and spacious, even if not always all that modern, as well as offering a good choice of well-maintained amenities. All in all, a comfortable stay awaits.

Great services leaves its mark

Feedback for this Verona hotel is often laden with praise for the staff. Guests feel truly welcome here, describing the staff as being friendly and helpful in a pleasant traditional kind of way, often concluding that the service is a real highlight at this property.

Negative Reviews

Lower-floor rooms can be noisy

Guests who are allocated a room on the lower floors often find themselves requesting a move skyward. These lower floor rooms are subject to a fair amount of noise from early in the day, including the sound of traffic and that of seemingly numerous bins being collected from establishments along the same street.

Extra costs for drivers doesn't impress

Drivers aren't too impressed to find themselves having to pay a daily fee for the privilege of parking their car. The parking facility itself also comes in for some criticism for being tight and tricky to navigate as a result.

Slow Wi-Fi

Some guests felt the Wi-Fi was too slow to have a decent connection. They felt it was especially slow during peak hours which made it more difficult to get tasks done. They would have liked to have a faster Wi-Fi.
