About Willis Village

Willis Village offers modern self-catering apartments in the centre of Wellington. The surrounding area is a popular shopping destination featuring several heritage buildings, such as St. John’s Presbyterian Church.

One, two and three bedroom apartments are available, providing a bathroom and a full kitchen with a dishwasher and laundry facilities. Other amenities include Wi-Fi access and a television while some apartments also feature a balcony.

Guests staying at Willis Village can keep in touch with staff members via a dedicated phone number and nearby parking can be arranged by prior request for an extra fee.

There are several shops and supermarkets nearby for stocking up on food and provisions. For a break from the kitchen, the intriguingly named Giddy-Up! on Manners Street is a trendy restaurant serving mussels and other seafood dishes.

Just along the road, City to Sea Bridge is a striking piece of street art. It leads to Civic Square, where the City Gallery showcases local artists.

Positive Reviews

Great amenities

Guests are pleased with the amenities offered by these apartments. It is a particular treat using the kitchens to prepare and cook meals with guests being pleased to find all of the equipment they need.

Clean and spacious apartments

Upon arrival, guests find the apartments in a great condition. They mention that everything is clean and tidy which they appreciate. They also like how spacious the rooms are.

Great location in Wellington

Guests describe these apartments as being ideally located for their needs. They like being in the heart of the city, close to the shops and supermarkets. This is said to come in handy for stocking up on food and provisions. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area and sights such as the Cable Car are within easy walking distance too.

Negative Reviews

Lack of parking

One of the problems guests experienced staying here was the lack of any on-site parking. With prior arrangement, it is possible to secure parking nearby, but this incurs an extra expense that many were not happy paying.

Lots of stairs

In order to reach some of the apartments, it is necessary to negotiate sets of stairs. Guests carrying luggage found this quite inconvenient, so bear this in mind if you have mobility issues or intend to travel with lots of bags.

Noisy at times

Guests mention that this part of Wellington can get quite noisy, particularly in the evenings. There are a few bars and pubs in the area and the patrons sometimes congregate outside talking.
