The Wildwoods of New Jersey

Is in actually a municipality of 5 distinct sections of New Jersey which forms, the Wildwoods community. Within this collective, are smaller boroughs such as Wildwood Crest, City of Wildwood, Borough of West Wildwood and the City of North Wildwood. Located on an island, it is also part of the ever popular Jersey Shore destination.

Morey's Pier & the Boardwalk

Morey's Pier and the Boardwalk are both attractions within Wildwood. Fishing being a common sport along the waters, is an activity that can be done on the pier and shorelines, as well as by chartered boats and other water crafts. The Boardwalk also attracts many seasonal events such as Monster Truck Rallies and music concerts.

The Boardwalk at night is a nice family activities with various attractions and eating to be enjoyed. The pier also provides a great waterfront view of the ocean. It is home to amusement parks, video arcades and other classic fun for the family.

If you feel the need for speed, try out the go-karts on Morey's Pier at the Can Am Raceway driving is not recommended for those under the age of 14, but those who meet the age guidelines will love the thrill of driving throughout the race courses.

On the boardwalk, try Adam's Restaurant which caters to a mix of American and Italian meals, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. For vegetarian options try Alosi's Bistro, which serves seafood and vegetarian options to those who seek them. To sample the food culture here in Wildwood, it is best to keep a light stomach and start from one end of the boardwalk to the other.

Restaurants are available both on and off the boardwalk, for the less touristy options try inland and perhaps you might find some gems.

The 'Avenue of Star' is an interesting concept that's made Wildwood the 'Entertainment Capital' of the East Coast. Various blocks of Pacific Avenue have been specially dedicated to various stars of film, movies, and music. You can easily spend a few hours touring the area and figure out how well you know your celebrities by reach about their star bio.

Wildwood is also a great place for shopping, whatever your goals are, whether it is for a souvenir or some special locally made product, it can be found here. Wildwood is certainly a shopper's paradise. There are toy stores for kids, fancy high end fashion for the fashionistas and plenty of beach gear for the beachfront aficionados. The boardwalk is great for antiques and souvenirs while more of the general shopping accessories are focused more inland. The Paradise Ocean Resort is a nice serviced apartment with weekly rentals allowing for the convenience of being close to downtown and yet easy on wallet.

Tips for the Travelers

Trying to brave the weather on an off season might get you more discounts and while there are events held in the Convention Centers and yearly calendar. It's always better to research the time of year which best fits consistently with your planned activities. So unless you intend to join the polar bear's club, don't plan a visit during the winter season.

Food is a common attraction on the boardwalk, as is carousels, ferries wheels and other rides. Make sure to plan your day out accordingly, so that you can fit in all of the families scheduled plans. Many of the events take place during the evening and so, it's better to start the day early. Consider staying at the Acacia Beachfront Resort which is approximately one mile from the city center, and provides fairly easy access to all that the beach as to offer. Many of the waterfront hotels offer a view and prices are competitive.

While many of the activities are catered towards the family, many of the local pubs and entertainment options might be closer in line for adults. But there are no lack of family activities on the boardwalk and piers. The Bal Harbour Oceanfront is a great place to stay for the family, with amenities that include a pool, decent parking and wonderful views at a cost friendly rate. Alternatively, the Lollipop Motel offers a chic yet old fashioned environment that's close to all the action and also very cost effective. The great thing about this little town in New Jersey, is that there's literally accommodations that fit almost every price point. The challenge itself might just be determining where to stay.
