The hotel is thankfully away from the turmoil of Kuta itself. There's a great short cut opposite and down the side of the Dynasty Hotel. Go down there and ‘lo and behold' ... you've stumbled across the boats that take you to the airport and Kuta! The malls of Lippo and Discovery are an easy walk away.
There are some good restaurants a short walk away and early risers can get an early morning coffee next door at Gloria Jean's. The hotel breakfast is surprisingly good.
Understandably, the hotel is very popular with families; there's so much here to keep kids happy. Members of staff are ever cheerful and friendly and the entire place just oozes a happy holiday atmosphere.
At first glance, the room appears to be fine, but the grimy tiles and mould in the bathroom encourage further investigation. The toilet isn't as clean as it could be and the overall impression is that someone needs to get in here and clean the place using those essential items … vim and vigour!
The CD player and the TV are broken and have remained so since reporting the problem. Staff members seem to be working flat out so the fault must be at managerial level. Even in public areas such as the bar, the blender remains in disrepair for days on end.
The pool bar is uncomfortably hot and doesn't encourage anyone to stay longer than is necessary. A ceiling fan would reduce the problem … and increase hotel revenue! Air con in the room isn't very effective so, even with that on, the problem still remains.
