Grand Hotel Capodimonte (Naples, Italy)

Grand Hotel Capodimonte is immersed in the marvellous Capodimonte hill, an enchanting place for its history and culture which is set in the heart of the ancient Naples. The Hotel was once a nunnery where the “stimmatine” nuns lived. It was also known as “delle morette” since it sheltered some little girls who were delivered from slavery in the Holy Land. It was founded on 10 May 1859 during the last year of Bourbon domination. Turned into a four stars hotel, it has kept today the old architectural structure of the past. Entering the old main gate, you quickly get to the hall where time seems to have stopped 150 years ago. In just a few steps you see the breathtaking scenery of the old court that is illuminated by a wonderful skylight and enriched with some heavenly ample – sized rooms, once meant for the nuns of the convent.
