Citara Beach (Ischia, Italy)

Spaggia Citara is a beach in Citara Bay, south of the town of Forio. Its name origininates from the Romans who consecrated the site to Venus Citarea, whose statue made of white marble was found in the area. The beach is in front of Thermal Poseidon Gardens, the thermal spa, with thermo-mineral island springs. Spring water gushes into the sea. The a large private part of the beach, Roman Sauna, is equipped with deck chairs and sun umbrellas, various restaurants and a boutique with a newspaper-kiosk.
