Hotel The York Palace Accommodation (York, Australia)

The York Palace Hotel is located centrally in the beautiful historic township of York, the first inland settlement of Western Australia. Built in 1909 in classical Federation style, it has been modernised and brought up to date with each of its 20 bedrooms having ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and carpeting. The original building offers 5 spacious comfortable bedrooms, with king beds and access onto the surrounding verandah with views to the town and hills beyond. A further 15 bedrooms have been added alongside the hotel, with more of a motel style with car parking outside. These rooms are also spacious, light and airy, and offering comfortable kingsize beds and ensuite bathrooms with rain showers. The hotel itself, although benefiting from a major upgrade during the early 2000s, still exhibits the wonderful architecture of the early 20th century with a grand staircase and lead light windows. A quirky outdoor garden adds a further dining experience during the balmy summer/spring months. The York Palace boasts a restaurant rated #1 on Trip Advisor. Dinner is served Thursday to Saturday, and lunch on the weekends with tap beers and extensive, moderately priced wine list.
