Petone Winter Carnival (Lower Hutt, New Zealand)

There’s plenty to do at this years Petone Winter Carnival, taking place on the Petone Forshore on Saturday 1 August 2015. For those brave enough and up for a challenge, you can take part in the annual winter swim, the Mitre 10 MEGA Polar Plunge. Its just a gold coin donation with all proceeds directed to charity. The Hits Main Stage will again provide a great range of entertainment and the Food Fair will satisfy any hunger with over 30 different options with cuisine from all over the world. The usual carnival rides will of course make an appearance and with a ride card available for $5 for 5 rides (some exceptions), its a great affordable way to have fun with family and friends. There are also a great deal of other attractions and activities available including circus workshops, model plane demonstrations, arm wrestling, the sports zone, marshmallow toasting, art and the Petone Settlers Museum is also nearby where you can find out a bit of history of this picturesque town. The Carnival will finish with a bang with the Pelorus Trust Fireshow brightening up the night sky above the Petone Wharf.
