Review summary

Summarized by AI from 200+ reviews

This hotel is primarily noted for its convenient location near Lake Merritt and downtown Oakland, making it a practical choice for budget-conscious travelers and those needing easy access to local hospitals or public transit. While its affordability is a consistent draw, guests should be prepared for a very basic experience. The hotel's most memorable aspect is its direct access to the city's core, appealing to solo travelers or individuals on short business trips who prioritize cost and accessibility over extensive amenities or luxury. Many guests highlight the need to manage expectations regarding the property's condition and the surrounding environment. To ensure a more comfortable stay, it is advisable to bring your own toiletries and towels, as these are often reported as missing or of poor quality. Additionally, be aware that the area can be noisy, so earplugs might be beneficial for light sleepers.
