Olympieion - Naos Olympiou Dios (Athens, Greece)

Construction of this Greco-Roman temple began in 515 B.C. but it was only completed by Emperor Hadrian in 2 A.D. The ruins of the temple are floodlit at night and visible from the Acropolis. Nothing of the original interior remains and of the initial 104 columns only 15 are still standing. Open daily from 08h00 till 18h00, the Temple is included in a 12 Euro ticket for the Archaeological Sites of Athens. Other tariffs are available at the website.
