The Soller Railway dates from the early part of the 20th century. Work began on its construction in 1911 funded by the profits from the orange and lemon trade, it was completed in 1912. Starting in the plains it moves into the mountains and through 13 tunnels of the Serra de Tramutana before reaching the valley and its destination.
