Hostel YHA Sydney Harbour (Sydney, Australia)

Public transport is easily accessible from Hostel with the Circular Quay train and the ferry station to Manly being ten-minutes’ walk away. Several museums are a few minutes’ walk away including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Susannah Place Museum and Colonial House Museum. The Sydney Opera House and Royal Botanic Gardens can also be reached within 20-minutes’ walk. The Rocks area itself is a lively hub with an array of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

The views of the harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge the Opera House from the roof top terrace have been described magnificent, spectacular and amazing. The hostel also promotes a friendly and social atmosphere by organising barbecue and cinema nights on certain days.

The rooms are simply furnished with modern decor and include all the necessary basics including clean linen, individual storage lockers, electrical plugs and reading lamps by each bed. It’s also easy to self cater with a spacious communal kitchen that’s fully equipped.

Unlike most places, luggage storage is not free of charge at Hostel. Many guests were surprised and disappointed at having to pay a fee to store their belongings for a few hours. Towels are also to be rented and if you do not have a lock for the storage lockers you can purchase one from the front desk.

Guests reported that the free Wi-Fi hotspot is unreliable and can’t always be connected to in the guest rooms.

There is no individual climate control and guests complained about having to go down to reception to request that the air condition be turned on.
