Positive Reviews
positive:
Clean, comfortable rooms with a view...
Most guests describe the apartments as very clean, spacious, and well equipped to suit an extended stay, though many choose it for a weekend getaway due to its location. The kitchen and laundry facilities are much appreciated, and the balconies, though cozy, are also a plus. Rooms on the highest floors offer some splendid views of the city.
positive:
Friendly, service-minded staff...
The front desk personnel have made a very positive impression on many guests, who describe them as friendly and happy to provide directions or information about the city. Most find them accommodating and note they will work to resolve any issues.
positive:
A perfect Southbank location...
Foodies generally rave about the hotel's location, which is very close to the Southbank restaurant scene, and next door to a cafe with a great breakfast. There are a few supermarkets close by for those who like to eat in, and just about every major Melbourne attraction (MCG, Botanic Gardens, National Gallery, Arts centre, the CBD) is within a comfortable walk or easily accessible via tram. The Flinders St Station is minutes away on foot.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Bring a book...and extra cash...
Some of the bedrooms do not offer televisions, and some guests have found the free Wi-Fi unacceptably slow, too. Others have been caught short by the "unusually high" security bond required at check-in.
negative:
Drive carefully...
Though drivers appreciate the on site parking, the entrance has been described as "tricky," and the spaces are a bit tight for larger cars, too.
negative:
Getting a little old...
Recent guests have described the decor as slightly dated, or else discovered wear in the furnishings and carpet. Though most guests find the rooms clean, some travellers have had unfortunate housekeeping oversights to report.
